Scale Finder
Finds all scales and keys containing a given set of notes, entered on a clickable piano keyboard or typed as note names. It searches major, natural, harmonic and melodic minor, all seven diatonic modes (Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian and the Ionian/Aeolian pair), major and minor pentatonic, and the blues scale in every key, ranking results by how few extra notes each scale adds. Selecting a result shows the full scale with your input notes highlighted and plays it back through the Web Audio API.

Notes
- All pitch math assumes twelve-tone equal temperament, the tuning of pianos, guitars and digital instruments; notes a semitone apart are treated as exactly equivalent.
- Enharmonic spelling follows the usual convention: sharps in sharp keys, flats in flat keys, so the same pitch may appear as F# in one context and Gb in another.
- Melodic minor is matched in its ascending form; the traditional descending form is identical to natural minor.
- Everything runs locally in your browser; your files are never uploaded to any server.
