Knight’s Tour
Can a knight visit all 64 squares of a chessboard exactly once? Try it yourself — legal moves light up, visited squares fill in, and the numbered trail records your route. When you get stuck, let Warnsdorff’s wonderfully simple heuristic take over: always jump to the square with the fewest onward moves. That one greedy rule threads the knight through the whole board almost every time, with no search at all.

Notes
- Warnsdorff’s rule: move to the square with the fewest continuations — save the flexible squares for later.
- Closed tours (ending a knight’s move from the start) exist on the 8×8 board — over 26 trillion of them.
- No tour exists on boards smaller than 5×5 (except the trivial 1×1).
