The balancing coefficient in front of reactant A in aA + bB ⇌ cC + dD.

Set it to 0 if A does not appear in the reaction.

The balancing coefficient in front of reactant B.

Set it to 0 for a reaction with a single reactant.

The balancing coefficient in front of product C.

Set it to 0 if there is no product C.

The balancing coefficient in front of product D.

Leave it at 0 for a reaction with only one product.

Starting concentration of A before any reaction, in mol/L — the "I" row of the ICE table.

Starting concentration of B before any reaction, in mol/L.

Starting concentration of product C, usually 0 if the reaction begins with only reactants.

Starting concentration of product D, usually 0 at the start.

The equilibrium constant: it sets how far the reaction proceeds.

K far above 1 favours products; K far below 1 leaves mostly reactants.
