Molar Mass Calculator illustration

Molar Mass Calculator

Works out the molar mass of any chemical formula, including brackets and hydrates like CuSO4·5H2O, and breaks down how much each element contributes by mass.

Use element symbols and counts; brackets and a dot for hydrates are allowed, e.g. Ca(OH)2 or CuSO4·5H2O.

Notes

  • Molar mass is the sum of the standard atomic weights of every atom in the formula, in grams per mole.
  • Standard atomic weights are IUPAC conventional values; for elements with no stable isotope the mass number of a common isotope is used.
