Base64 / URL / HTML Encoder-Decoder illustration

Base64 / URL / HTML Encoder-Decoder

Encodes and decodes text in the encodings web developers juggle daily: Base64 (standard and URL-safe with optional padding), hex, URL percent-encoding (encodeURIComponent or encodeURI), and HTML entities (named or numeric). Auto-detects encode vs decode from what you paste, supports line-by-line bulk lists, and turns dropped files into Base64 or data: URIs — all locally in your browser.

Runs 100% in your browser — nothing you paste leaves your device.

Notes

  • Base64 is an encoding, not encryption: anyone can decode it. Never treat it as protection.
  • encodeURIComponent escapes more characters than encodeURI; use the component variant for query-string values and the full variant for whole URLs.
  • URL-safe Base64 swaps +/ for -_ and often omits padding; both padded and unpadded forms decode here.
  • Runs 100% in your browser — nothing you paste leaves your device.
