Astronomical Distance Converter

Converts an astronomical distance between kilometres, astronomical units, light-years and parsecs, and shows how long light takes to cross it.

Notes

  • A light-year is the distance light travels in a year, about 9.46×10¹² km; a parsec is about 3.26 light-years.
  • The default, 4.24 light-years, is the distance to Proxima Centauri, the nearest star.
