Mental Math Trainer
Fast arithmetic is a trainable skill, and drills with instant feedback are how you train it. Pick your operations — addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or a mix — set the difficulty from single-digit to three-digit numbers, and choose a 60-second sprint, a 20-question set or Storm mode. Storm borrows the puzzle-storm formula from chess sites: 60 seconds on the clock, a combo bar that awards bonus time for chains of correct answers (+3s to +10s), a 10-second penalty for mistakes, and problems that climb through ten difficulty levels as your score grows. Problems appear one at a time; answer with your keyboard or the on-screen keypad, and a wrong answer immediately shows the correct one so errors teach instead of lingering. Live counters track your streak, accuracy and problems per minute, and the results screen breaks performance down by operation, so you can see, say, that subtraction is what slows you down. Division problems always come out even — the skill being drilled is arithmetic, not remainder bookkeeping. Your best score for each setting combination is kept on this device.

Notes
- Speed comes from methods, not gifts: left-to-right addition, complements for subtraction ("64 − 38: 38 to 40 is 2, to 64 is 24, so 26"), and factoring tricks for multiplication all turn big problems into small ones.
- The streak counter is deliberate pressure: accuracy under time stress is the actual trained skill, and a broken streak stings enough to make you slow down that half-second that prevents errors.
- Division is generated inverse-first (the answer and divisor are chosen, then multiplied), so every quotient is a whole number at every difficulty.
- Storm mode mirrors the classic puzzle-storm pacing: combo bonuses of +3s at combo 5, +5s at 12, +7s at 20 and +10s at 30 and every 10 after, a 10-second malus per miss, and a difficulty ladder that rises one level (of ten) every 3 correct answers — from single-digit sums to two-digit multiplication.
