Wind Chill, Heat Index & Dew Point illustration

Wind Chill, Heat Index & Dew Point

Computes the dew point from temperature and humidity, the wind chill in cold windy weather, and the heat index in hot humid weather — the three standard "feels like" numbers.

Notes

  • Wind chill (Environment Canada/NWS formula) is defined for ≤ 10 °C with wind ≥ 4.8 km/h; heat index (Rothfusz) for ≥ 27 °C.
  • Dew point is the better mugginess measure than relative humidity: above 21 °C dew point feels oppressive at any air temperature.
