GPA Calculator

Paste one course per line as "name, credits, grade" — grades can be letters (A−, B+, …) or grade points (3.7). The calculator weights each course by its credits, converts letters on the scale you pick, and returns your term GPA. Add your previous GPA and completed credits to roll the term into an updated cumulative GPA. Switch to Goal mode to reverse the question: “I want a 3.5 overall — what GPA do I need this term?”

Letter grades or numeric grade points both work.
Your GPA so far. Optional in term mode; required in Goal mode.
Credits that make up the GPA above. Optional in term mode; required in Goal mode.
How many credits you will finish this term.
The overall GPA you want after this term.

Notes

  • Letter conversion uses the standard US table: A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 … F = 0. On the 4.3 scale only A+ changes, from 4.0 to 4.3.
  • Schools differ on pass/fail courses and repeats — this calculator counts every listed course; leave out anything your school excludes.
  • Goal mode solves: needed = (target × total credits − current GPA × past credits) ÷ credits this term.
