Cron Expression Parser illustration

Cron Expression Parser

Parses cron expressions into a plain-English summary plus a field-by-field breakdown, and lists the next runs in any timezone with DST callouts. Paste a whole crontab (comments, @weekly aliases and commands included), pick the dialect — Unix 5-field, Quartz, AWS EventBridge or GitHub Actions — and get warnings for impossible dates like "31 2 *", the day-of-month vs day-of-week quirk, and every-minute mistakes. Copy the schedule as a ready-made Kubernetes CronJob or GitHub Actions workflow snippet.

Runs 100% in your browser — nothing you paste leaves your device.

Notes

  • Day-of-month and day-of-week are OR-ed when both are restricted in Unix cron — the POSIX quirk that surprises everyone: "0 0 13 * 5" fires on the 13th AND on every Friday. Quartz and AWS avoid it by requiring "?" in one of the two fields.
  • Cron runs in the server's timezone; a job at "0 9 * * *" fires at 9:00 server time, not your time. Use the timezone picker to see when it fires in yours.
