Passphrase Generator (Diceware) illustration

Passphrase Generator (Diceware)

Generates memorable passphrases by drawing words from the EFF long wordlist (7,776 words), the modern diceware standard: each word adds 12.9 bits of entropy, and the dice rolls that would produce it are shown.

Runs 100% in your browser — nothing you generate leaves your device.

Notes

  • Diceware entropy comes from the selection process, not secrecy of the list: even though the attacker has the full wordlist, 5 words mean 7776⁵ ≈ 2.8 × 10¹⁹ possibilities.
  • A 5-word passphrase (~64 bits) beats a random 8-character password (~52 bits) and is far easier to remember and type.
  • Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing you enter or generate is sent to any server.
