Vig Remover illustration

Vig Remover

Takes the quoted odds of every outcome in a market, measures the overround and removes the vig to reveal fair odds — with a choice of the multiplicative, Shin, power and additive methods.

Notes

  • The multiplicative method scales all probabilities equally. Shin and power strip more vig from longshots, matching how bookmakers actually load their margins (the favourite-longshot bias).
  • Shin's z estimates the share of insider money the bookmaker is defending against.
  • Gambling math is informational only, not betting advice. Gambling involves risk of loss; only play with money you can afford to lose, and only if you are 18+ (or of legal age where you live).
