- MPG and L/100 km are reciprocal scales: MPG (US) = 235.21 / (L/100 km). Halving consumption doubles MPG.
- A UK gallon is 4.546 L, a US gallon 3.785 L — UK MPG numbers are always about 20% higher for the same car.
